Message to Firearms Retailers Concerning Project ChildSafe and the 'Child Safety Lock Act of 2005'

Project ChildSafe cannot accommodate requests from retailers who are responding to the "Child Safety Lock Act of 2005" that went into effect April 24, 2006. Project ChildSafe is not a supplier to retailers now obligated to provide gun locks to their customers. Project ChildSafe does encourage and welcome community support to help promote the Project ChildSafe firearm safety education message and the free distribution of safety kits. If a retailer is interested in partnering with a participating law enforcement agency for the purpose of helping with distribution efforts, please click on Where to get a free safety kit and then click on your state on the map for a list of partners for this year and last year to contact. Project ChildSafe gun locks are absolutely not for resale.
