Kalispell Mayor Mark Johnson to be Featured Guest at Firearms Safety Event Hosted by NSSF, POMA, Flathead County Sheriff’s Office and Kalispell Police Department
Free Gun Locks and Firearm Safety Information to be Distributed at Event
Education on responsible firearm safety and storage is the first step toward preventing firearm accidents in the home. With this in mind, the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) will join the Professional Outdoor Media Association to host a special media and public event to provide free firearm safety kits, including a gun lock and safety information, to the Kalispell community. Law enforcement representatives from the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office and the Kalispell Police Department will demonstrate how to properly install the locks on various firearms.

WHO: Featured Guest: Kalispell Mayor Mark Johnson, Bill Brassard, National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF), Kevin Orthman, Professional Outdoor Media Association (POMA), Jamie Corkish, USA Shooting Athlete, 2012 Olympic Gold Medalist and Kalispell resident, Flathead County Sheriff’s Office Representatives, and Kalispell Police Department Representatives.

WHY: Instilling awareness about firearm safety and proper storage is the first step toward preventing firearm accidents, theft and misuse. This event will provide free gun locks and safety information to help Kalispell residents responsibly store their firearms when not in use.
